DigiCert boosts corporate security with comprehensive Cryptographic Asset Discovery

DigiCert

DigiCert, has introduced an advanced Discovery feature in its Trust Lifecycle Manager, aimed at simplifying key and certificate administration. This enhancement bolsters cryptoagility while optimizing the allocation of time and resources.

“The majority of organizations have not yet implemented a centralized crypto-management solution,” said DigiCert Chief Product Officer Deepika Chauhan. “This is becoming critical now, as IT leaders consider how to transition their cryptographic algorithms and certificates to quantum-safe standards in order to protect their organizations against ‘harvest now, decrypt later’ strategies.”

In a recent report1, Senior Director Analyst Brian Lowans of Gartner emphasized the need for cryptographic technologies to evolve in response to the growing threat of quantum computing. The report highlighted the rising demand for innovative solutions such as crypto-agility, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum key distribution.

DigiCert’s Trust Lifecycle Manager Discovery employs multiple techniques to locate certificates within an organization. This includes port-based scanning, integration with private certificate authorities like AWS Private CA and Microsoft CA, collaboration with vulnerability management solutions like Qualys and Tenable, and integration with web servers and load balancers.

The integration of Qualys Vulnerability Management, Discovery and Response (VMDR) with DigiCert products allows customers to efficiently manage and automate their discovered cryptographic assets. This strategic move signifies a significant step forward in streamlining the management of digital security assets for businesses across various industries.
