Fortinet launches groundbreaking Secure SD-WAN appliance and NGFW with SP5 ASIC, the FortiGate 90G. At a reasonable cost, it provides scalability, efficiency, and threat defense driven by AI. In the hybrid network, this improves Fortinet’s Secure Networking lineup for seamless security, unified management, analytics, and FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services.
Introducing the FortiGate 90G with SP5 ASIC
The latest FortiGate 90G line of next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) provides distributed edges with enterprise-grade secure networking features like hybrid mesh firewall, SD-WAN, and SD-Branch. In order to allow secure internet access, secure private access, and secure SaaS access, FortiGate 90G also serves as the basis for customers’ SASE and zero-trust journeys.
FortiGate 90G offers advanced intrusion prevention for deep packet inspection of SSL/TLS traffic, web security services, such as DNS and URL filtering for blocking access to malicious domains and URLs, and content security, such as inline sandboxing to stop zero-day and other file-based threats. These services are all fully integrated with FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services.
This new line of firewalls is the first to be equipped with Fortinet’s SP5 ASIC, a fifth-generation ASIC technology that was unveiled earlier this year and has the capacity to accelerate and run 2x as many applications as the previous generation, including NGFW, zero-trust network access (ZTNA), SD-WAN, and SSL inspection. The Security Compute Rating table below, which contrasts the best firewalls available today with the target performance figures of the FortiGate 90G series, demonstrates the strength of FortiGate 90G with Fortinet’s SP5 ASIC and FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services.
To properly secure and connect hybrid infrastructure and enable hybrid work, networking and security must merge, according to John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer and EVP, Product Strategy at Fortinet. In fact, we believe that secure networking will surpass networking to take over as the dominant technology in this decade.
