Venkat Kotla has been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Securonix. To meet the demand for the company’s security information and event management (SIEM) solutions, Kotla will oversee the growth of the engineering department and forge alliances with other tech companies.

Kotla is a seasoned professional with twenty-five years of experience working for business software organizations. Kotla was most recently employed by workplace productivity solutions company Atlassian as Vice President and Head of Engineering for the Economy business unit. The Economy business unit at Atlassian expanded to generate over $500 million in annual revenue under his direction.

Kotla spent 14 years working for Google before joining Atlassian. During that time, he held several high-engineering leadership positions, such as high Director of Engineering for Google Assistant and the multi-cloud corporate SaaS Google Looker, which provides business intelligence, data applications, and embedded analytics.

“Our platform must scale with enterprise-grade reliability as we enter our next phase of expansion and continue to adapt, meeting the ever-increasing demands of modern organizations tasked with combating an ever-expanding threat field. Chief executive officer of Securonix Nayaki Nayyar said, “Venkat’s extensive experience with cutting-edge technologies, including AI, successfully growing technology partnerships and streamlining processes across multiple stakeholders, will be invaluable in driving product development that protects our customers from internal and external threats.”

Securonix has seen several high-profile appointments in the past several weeks. Chief Revenue Officer Scott Sampson is one of them. Sampson is in charge of expanding the business’s worldwide sales division in this capacity. To support the company’s growth through partnerships and alliances, the Texas-based business recently appointed Mark Stevens as vice president of strategic alliances.
