Airbus Defence and Space has solidified an agreement to acquire INFODAS, a distinguished Cologne-based German company renowned for its specialisation in cybersecurity and tailored IT solutions for the public sector, including defence and critical infrastructures. While pending customary regulatory approvals, the acquisition is estimated to be completed by 2024.

This strategic move by Airbus resonates with its overarching vision to fortify its cybersecurity portfolio, enriching the offerings extended to its esteemed European and global clientele. In light of the increasing cyber threats in tandem with the ever-expanding digitalisation and interconnectedness of Airbus’ products and systems, cybersecurity stands out as a pivotal aspect of the company’s progression. Airbus has been committed to enhancing cybersecurity enhancement and proficiency in recent years, ensuring unparalleled protection for its products, operations, customers, and broader ecosystem, including high-profile initiatives such as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

Beyond its headquarters in Cologne, INFODAS maintains a widespread presence across Germany, with offices in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz. The company also holds a certification from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, encompassing information system auditing, consulting, and penetration tests. Notably, INFODAS’ SDoT Security Gateway product line holds approval for classification levels up to secret, adheres to rigorous Common Criteria standards, and secures other country-specific certifications.
