Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike and global systems integrator HCLTech have forged a new strategic alliance wherein CrowdStrike’s Falcon XDR platform will empower the GSI’s managed detection and response services.
For HCLTech, headquartered in India, this partnership signifies access to a reliable and user-friendly platform to enhance cybersecurity offerings for customers and harness artificial intelligence (AI), according to Amit Jain, the GSI’s executive vice president and global head of cybersecurity. In an interview with CRN, Jain emphasised the alignment in perspectives between the two entities regarding the challenges posed by cyber threats in the market. He highlighted the increasing complexity and sophistication of cyber attacks, which often evade detection by conventional tools.
CrowdStrike, based in Austin, Texas, and recognised as a member of CRN’s 2024 Security 100, views partners like HCLTech as instrumental in expanding its customer base among large enterprises and integrating security into broader digital transformation initiatives, stated Daniel Bernard, Crowdstrike’s chief business officer. Bernard stressed the essential nature of cybersecurity in today’s business landscape, emphasising that it should not be relegated to secondary status but instead be a central focus of strategic discussions at the executive level.
Bernard underscored the importance of solution providers in ensuring the proper implementation and integration of cybersecurity products within existing environments, particularly in light of the shortage of cybersecurity professionals. He noted that while efforts are made to fortify the initial security of applications and products, vulnerabilities persist, necessitating ongoing vigilance.
Before the partnership, HCLTech was already utilising CrowdStrike’s technology, with many of its customers also employing the platform, as Jain mentioned. Additionally, CrowdStrike’s comprehensive training resources played a significant role in solidifying the partnership. Jain emphasised the importance of a holistic approach to partnerships, where vendors actively support solution providers in addressing customer needs and achieving successful outcomes.
Overall, both parties expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the mutual benefits of enhancing cybersecurity capabilities, delivering value to customers, and fostering long-term relationships.
