L&T Technology Services secures ₹800 crore cybersecurity contract from Maharashtra State Cyber Department

L&T Technology Services Ltd, a renowned engineering and technology services company, asserted its groundbreaking achievement of securing a unique program valued at approximately Rs 800 crore from the Maharashtra State Cyber Department under the Government of Maharashtra. This contract underscores LTTS’ dedication to developing secure, digitally interconnected, and Smart cities by offering state-of-the-art Cyber Security and Digital Forensic solutions under one comprehensive framework.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, in collaboration with KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services as the forensics partner, LTTS will deliver advanced Cyber Security Solutions to enhance public safety against cyber threats in Maharashtra. The project includes designing and implementing an advanced cybersecurity system and establishing an upgraded cyber security and cybercrime prevention centre equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Forensic tools for effectively handling cybercrime incidents and investigations.

Key components of the program include establishing a Digital Threat Analytics Centre (DTAC) and a Centre of Excellence (COE) equipped with state-of-the-art digital forensic tools. A Central Emergency Response Team (CERT) will also be set up to handle incident response and investigation utilising advanced cyber threat intelligence and analytics. Moreover, a Security Operations Centre (SOC) encapsulated with AI & ML technologies will be established to protect critical infrastructure.

Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of LTTS emphasised the significance of this milestone, stating that it not only marks a significant business achievement but also presents an opportunity to leverage LTTS’ expertise in setting up command centres and addressing the escalating importance of cybersecurity. Chadha expressed confidence that this deal will enable LTTS to expand its offerings for its global clients.

KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP and LTTS’ partner were this initiative’s prime entities. Yezdi Nagporewalla, CEO of KPMG in India, expressed pride in collaborating with the Maharashtra State Cyber Department and LTTS, underscoring their shared commitment to public safety through advanced cyber security solutions.
